Worship

Today while worshiping in church, I felt this overwhelming sense of responsibility for what I need to teach Josie.

Sure I will be teaching her how to crawl, walk, the ABCs, how to count, etc. But. I am also responsible for teaching her about Jesus, how to have a relationship with Him, how to worship Him.

Crap- that's a lot..... soooo how do I do that? So I asked.

And He simply replied, "what you are doing right now."

And in that moment, I had my {17 pound} baby in one arm and with my other, I was simply worshiping.

So this is what I will do. Day in and out, I will strive {and fail} to show Josie how to worship. The only way I can do that- is for my relationship with Christ to strengthen.

Here lately, my worship hasn't been consistent or easy. This past year has been incredibly hard in many areas. We've had crazy health issues and with that--- lots of medical bills. We've dealt with a lot of hurt from previous relationships. We've been trying to learn how to be parents all while balancing our marriage and business. Basically- we Google a WHOLE HECK OF A LOT.

But this is when it counts- when it's tough, not easy, and life is challenging- that's when it's most important for us to worship. Because the things I hope to teach Josie- is that even when life is crappy- HE is still good. HE is still faithful. And HE is always Holy.

"Train up a child in the way he should go,
And when he is old he will not depart from it." -Proverbs 22:6

  1. Chelsea, just the fact that you are thinking about this is most of the battle. I believe more is caught than taught. That being said, look for those teachable moments and relate them to scripture, not as a scare tactic, but as to why we do things. This will help little Josie as she gets older to be able to come to her own decision about Christ and to be able to stand firm in her faith. It is so fun to see you and Josh parenting. Thank you for letting us into your world. If you are thinking it then others are as well. Your vulnerability and transparency is contagious. Thank you and keep doing what you are doing!
